• DOTD to close parts of I-10 to prepare for contraflow



Metairie, La. - The left lane of I-10 westbound will be closed tonight, August 26, from 7 p.m. until 10 p.m. between Clearview Parkway and the Transcontinental Drive overpass. The left lane of I-10 eastbound will be closed from 10 p.m. until 2 a.m. between Veterans Blvd. and Clearview Parkway. Workers will be preparing the lanes for Contraflow, should the threat of Hurricane Isaac cause Contraflow to be implemented.

All planned construction activities are weather-dependent and may be re-scheduled in the event of inclement weather. DOTD appreciates your patience and reminds you to drive with caution through the work zone and to be alert for work crews and construction equipment. 

Geaux Wider NOLA is a multi-year construction initiative to widen Interstate 10 from six to ten lanes between Clearview Parkway and Veterans Memorial Boulevard. The project will increase capacity, improve safety and enhance mobility on this heavily traveled segment of I-10 in Jefferson Parish. For more information, visit http://www.geauxwidernola.com.
