A mandatory evacuation has been called for Lafourche Parish below the Leon Theriot floodgates in Golden Meadow.

Residents are urged to leave no later than 6 p.m., as officials believe that the water will wash over La 1.

Evacuation shelters have been set up in Raceland at the Raceland Recreation Center and the Raceland Ag Center.
